{Belatedly} Wordless Wednesday, aka Thursday

I have to apologize for the plethora of posts lately, and especially that so many of them are about what I’m eating or not eating. When my boyfriend mentions it, I know other people have to be thinking it, too. 🙂 Sorry, guys. I’ve just been so excited about this diet and I’ve had so much to say! You haven’t seen the end of it, but this blog is about so much more than food, so it’s time to dial it back a bit.

Are you still with me?

Life for me lately has mostly been about schoolwork and health, and that’s only exciting to a select handful.

So, to shake it up, a glimpse of what I’m “reading” these days (via audio book), and a sneak peek at my walk-through of Bayfield’s newest store, Hive. Look for a Locality post about Hive this Friday.

{Running and Paper-writing} Wordless Wednesday

Signs of life in the fields
Signs of life in the fields

Today is record-settingly warm. Hot, even. It’s about 20 degrees (Celsius) warmer than it should be at this time of year. Perhaps the apocalypse is hovering at the edges of our atmosphere.

While meteorologists attempt to decipher crazy weather patterns and most normal people sit on decks and patios and lawns and beaches, I am writing the paper that was due yesterday and won’t be finished before tomorrow. In my defense, I only lose 2% per day, and chances are I’m going to do pretty well on this paper.

I did get out to complete (official) run #6 of the Couch to 5K program, aka the last of week two. It has taken me longer than two weeks to get here, but I’m pretty much on track now.

Anyway, here’s me outside and inside.

Introducing Wordless Wednesday

I am no photographer.

But I like to dabble anyway.

There’s only so much you can do with a digital point-and-shoot, after all. Or a smart phone. Still, every week on Wednesday, I’d like to join some members of the blogosphere in posting a photograph, with few words, if any.

The Wordless Wednesday movement was introduced to me by this mommy blogger, one of many who are attempting to share a photo that says so much no words are needed. That’s a pretty large and impressive feat for a blogger! But I’m gonna give it a try.

So. The introductory post. It should be poignant and memorable, characteristic of what you can come to expect as the weeks go by.

I’ve been thinking about what photo to share since I posted yesterday’s blog about the downside to social technology.

What I’ve come up with is…. a sentimental one.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, here’s my first ever PhotoShop-vintage-effected shout-out to my main man, Johnathan.
