In my early twenties, I somehow discovered that I enjoy cooking. I appreciate the challenge of taking a recipe and making it my own.
My mom’s cooking remains an inspiration to me, but more recently I am cooking food that excludes many “staples”: sugar or sweetener of any kind, grains or grain products (of any kind), potatoes (except sweet potatoes), dairy of any kind, legumes, corn, and additives such as MSG, sulfites, lecithins, and carageenans. The need to find new ways to eat meat, veggies, and eggs has driven me to experiment even more than usual.
